Great cooler works amazing not too loud and not too heavy and gets cold fast definitely plenty of room. I would buy the warranty just because at the end of the day it’s electric but 100% worth every penny don’t miss out on this cooler.
As someone who spends a lot of time traveling for events, festivals, vacations, and family trips, I am always looking for ways to keep drinks cold and snacks accessible without constantly hunting for ice. This cooler ended up being much more useful than I expected.
The first thing I noticed was the capacity. It holds a generous amount of drinks, snacks, and travel essentials while still fitting comfortably in a vehicle. It's large enough for weekend trips, sporting events, camping adventures, and long drives without feeling oversized.
What really sets it apart is the cooling and warming functionality. Being able to switch between keeping items cold or warm makes it much more versatile than a standard cooler. Cold drinks stayed refreshingly cool during travel, and the warming feature is a nice bonus for road trips and outdoor activities.
I also appreciate that it plugs into a 12V outlet. No ice, no melting water, and no soggy sandwiches floating around by the end of the day. That's a huge win in my book.

It arrived broken. If I was paying nearly $300 for an item like this (in my case, I’m paying taxes on the value) I would expect parts that will last for years of use. The little plastic piece that attaches the lid to the chest, that the lid hinges on, was completely snapped off already when I opened the box – so… either poor quality control, or I received a used item, or who knows what else. I don’t know how that part would have broken in transport. The cooler came out of the box dusty and scuffed on the lid, with no protective plastic or anything other than a few cardboard pieces.
The cooling function is interesting. The fan is not quiet. I originally wanted it for camping (to use in addition to ice for really hot days) but it is not functional for that. So I was thinking instead it could be good at a desk at work for storing drinks, or for using at a party but… I think I’d be better off just getting the bag of ice and using my regular cooler. Again it is NOT quiet. You need to have a really specific use-function to want to buy this.
Size-wise it is fine, look-wise I really liked how it looked, but function-wise it is awful. I really, REALLY was looking forward to this cooler and I am completely disappointed. Not worth the price.
This is my second thermoelectric cooler. More about that later. This cooler from Igloo, one of the top names in coolers and insulated thermos and cups, looks and works great. The cooler has metal handles and a metal exterior. The removable lid has thick plastic hinges that should last a lifetime. It looks and feels sturdy and durable and has many nice design features including a metal bottle opener mounted on the front.
The lid can be removed by simply opening it to the angle where the hinge can pass through and slip out. Speaking of the lid, this is where all the hardware and electronics are. It's a nice design in that there are no wires being flexed every time you open and close the lid. The cooling/heating components are all up top and come off when the lid is removed. The lid is also where both the AC 110v and DC 12v power cords are stored. Both are always right there when you need them. The lid also click-locks into place when you close it. It's very unlikely to open accidentally, even when bouncing around jumping waves in your boat or crawling up trails in your Jeep.
Since all the hardware is in the lid, this means the interior is completely open making enough space to hold up to 37 cans. That's about a case and a half of your favorite beverages or dinner supplies for a week. Unlike some units that house the cooling hardware in one corner of the bottom of the cooler, this design gives you more space that's easier to pack.
Overall, I really like this cooler and so far, it's working great. I checked to see how quickly it would cool and how low it would go. Sitting in my house with the room temperature at 72 degrees, it took about an hour to chill from 72 down to 45. An hour later it had cooled to 35 degrees and never seemed to go any further. That's good enough for me. I didn't test it, but I'm assuming the heating feature would work about as well the cooling. The manual says it should heat to about 136 degrees.
The overall dimensions are about 22"D x 15"W x 19"H. The lid is about 3 inches of the height to house the cooling hardware.
Now, my only complaint's that its fan is noisy. I included a video so you can hear it. It's way louder than my house fridge and a little annoying.
Because of that noisy fan I'm including this tip. My first thermoelectric cooler was another major brand that I used as a fridge in my office. It ran continuously for about six months before it stopped working. I have since learned that the cooling chips can last for decades, as much as 200,000 to 300,000 hours. It's the fan motors that are the weakest component of every thermoelectric cooler/heater. In real life you're likely to get 2 to three years of continuous use before it seizes. A drop of oil in the right place might extend its life dramatically.
This is a nice cooler for sure though. Five Stars!
This is a nice cooler, but it does take quite awhile to reach maximum cooling temperature. That maybe because I was testing on an empty cooler (I had one can inside), but I know with more products inside it will cool faster. One thing that happened that immediately threw me off giving this more stars is that I went to open it, and without thinking grabbed the plastic panel on top, which looks as though it is a handle to grab and open it with. It popped off, and the control knob went flying. very poor design. I can just imagine being out somewhere and the control knob goes flying and we are having to search everywhere for it. When taking it out of the box, the lid came off, but it dawns on me, that is purposeful, allowing you to remove the lid, which has all the electrical components, which in turn, allows you to hose down the rest of the cooler. That part is great, but I'm afraid those plastic tabs that are used as hinges will snap off, not great at all for the price. The weight is not bad, but if you fill this up, it is going to be very heavy. With the capacity of this cooler, it would be much better if it had wheels and a pull handle.
