Extra Heavy-Duty Soft Cooler
Note: This review is for the 22-liter Soft Cooler Model. We own a few items from CORE Equipment, including a camping table, but this is my first experience with a cooler from the company. This is a much more serious cooler bag than an RTIC insulated tote that we also own. This bag is for serious outdoor adventures, whereas our RTIC tote is more appropriate for backyard fun. That said, there are some things to be aware of before ordering. → Insulation. This cooler bag sports some serious insulation. It's semi-soft but at least two inches thick on all sides, tapering toward the top opening. The cooler's spec sheet rates its ice retention at 2.2 days in 120°F weather. That will vary greatly depending on how often you open the cooler, but to give more context. → Opening. Due to the amount of insulation, the opening, or rather the amount that the lid opens, is somewhat limited. You can easily fit cans and bottles of wine, but larger items will be challenging to get in or out of the cooler. → Zipper. The zipper isn't a traditional zipper but a heavy-duty Ziploc-bag-type sliding closure. It also requires some maintenance, including regular cleaning and applying a lubricant. ► Additional notes: I highly recommend you open this cooler and let it air out immediately after receiving it. The interior has a strong chemical smell, but it dissipates with time. In addition to everything else, the empty cooler is heavier than your standard insulated tote. The cooler can get quite heavy with drinks, food, and other contents. ► In the Box: → 22-liter cooler bag → Shoulder strap → Replacement pulls → Lubricant → Product information sheets

    I was surprised by the quality of this cooler. Much bigger than I had pictured despite knowing the measurements. Super easy to haul around, kept drinks ice cold all day in the hot Florida sun.

    Wish I could return it – waste of money

    I purchased this to take some delicious Publix subs and cheesecake back home to my husband. If you know, you know. I froze water bottles for our flight from Florida to Colorado. It’s a hour and a half drive and we left at 6am so it was not hot outside. I also put a bag of ice in the cooler to chill it some before stocking it with 6 frozen water bottles (2 large and 4 small) and the food. They were all 1/3 melted before we even go to TSA. So much for 3.5 days of ice.

    It’s huge but does fit a lot of stuff in it. Seems durable but the zipper was difficult and already split once.

    Pros- the cooler is well made, well, insulated, and made with quality tough materials. Cons, the cooler says 17 inches but it’s so skinny you can’t really fit anything inside of it, and you would have no where to put empty bottles back in to take home unless you take everything out and put them on the bottom. Because of the skinny storage it was a huge disappointment. If you only need to carry a six pack of drinks you’ll be fine, but don’t expect to fit anything else in it

    Purchased 12 can size cooler. Impressed with waterproof rubberized exterior construction, zipper and compact size. Perfect size to carry a day of drinks or food/condiments. I really like using "cooler shock" ice packs and the medium/all purpose size fits perfect and provides all the chilling requirements while occupying very little space allowing more food/drink storage. This bag will be very useful on my boat, fishing, hunting and camping trips in addition to bringing it to BYOB gatherings. I'm a yeti customer so my review should be meaningful to people who are looking for something well made, smaller in size and practical.
